Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 29, 2026

This policy describes what DueAnt ("the app") does and doesn't do with your data. The short version: your records stay on your phone. There's no account, no ads and no analytics, and we run no server that receives your data. If you turn on Google Drive backup, your records are encrypted with your password on the phone and go to your own Google Drive, not to us.

Who this is from

DueAnt is developed by an independent developer. Contact: support@lkm-apps.in

What the app keeps, and where

Everything below is stored in the app's private storage on your phone. None of it is sent to us, sold or shared.

  • Your records: the people you lend to or borrow from (a name, and a phone number if you add one), loans, repayments, due dates, promises, notes and groups.
  • Proof photos you attach, such as a signed note or a payment screenshot.
  • An activity log of what changed and when, so a loan's history is never lost.
  • Your settings, including your PIN as a salted hash. The PIN itself is never stored.

Information about other people

The people in your records haven't signed up to DueAnt; you add them. What you write about them stays on your phone, and DueAnt never contacts them. Please keep only what you need to remember a loan, and use reminders kindly.

Contacts, photos and messages

  • Contacts: when you link a person to a contact, Android's own contact picker shares only the contact you pick. DueAnt keeps that contact's name, number and a link to it. The app has no permission to read your contacts.
  • Photos come from Android's photo picker or your camera app. DueAnt has no camera or storage permission. When you share a payment screenshot to DueAnt, a copy is kept with the loan as proof.
  • Reminders, notes and receipts are written by DueAnt and sent by you, from your own WhatsApp, SMS or any app you choose. DueAnt never sends a message itself.
  • Notifications are scheduled on your phone. With a PIN set, notifications on the lock screen hide names and amounts.

Optional Google Drive backup

If you turn on Drive backup (a DueAnt Pro feature):

  • DueAnt saves one file to a hidden, app-only folder in your own Google Drive (Drive's appDataFolder). It doesn't show in your Drive, and no other app can read it, including anything of ours.
  • The upload goes straight from your phone to your own Drive, under Google's terms and privacy policy; it never passes through anything of ours. A backup password is optional. If you set one, the file is encrypted on your phone with it (PBKDF2, then AES-256-GCM) before it's uploaded, and the key made from it is kept on your phone, protected by the Android Keystore, so automatic backups don't ask for it each time. Without one, the backup is protected by your Google account, and restoring it on a new phone needs only that account.
  • Sign-in uses Google's own screen, and asks only for the drive.appdata permission. DueAnt can't see or change any of your other Drive files. It reads your Google account's email address only to show you which account is connected; the address stays on your phone.
  • We never see your backup or your password. If you set a backup password and forget it, it can't be recovered, and a backup locked with it can't be opened.
  • Disconnecting Drive backup in Settings revokes DueAnt's access at Google, and offers to delete the backup from your Drive.

DueAnt's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. That information is used only to save and restore your own backup, and is never transferred to anyone.

Backup files, exports and statements

  • Backup files are saved only when you ask, to a place you pick. They're encrypted when you've set a backup password; without one, the file isn't encrypted, so keep it somewhere safe.
  • Spreadsheet exports and PDF statements are ordinary readable files, created only when you save or share one.

Google Play Billing

DueAnt Pro is an optional one-time purchase, handled entirely by Google Play. DueAnt only asks Google Play whether this Google account owns Pro, to unlock it. No payment card, UPI or billing details pass through the app or reach us.

Android's own backup

Android can back up apps' data to your Google account, or copy it to a new phone, depending on your phone's settings. For DueAnt, that includes your records, proof photos and settings (not the backup key, which only works on this phone). Android and Google handle this backup under Google's privacy policy; DueAnt has no access to it.

What we don't do

  • No advertising, no ad SDKs and no advertising ID.
  • No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and no usage tracking of any kind.
  • No account of our own. The only sign-in is Google's, and only if you use Drive backup.
  • No access to your contacts list, location, call logs or SMS: the app never asks for these permissions.
  • The internet is used only for Google Drive backup, and only once you turn it on.
  • No lending, interest or payments. DueAnt is a record-keeping app for friends and family.
  • No selling or sharing of any data with anyone, for any purpose.

Deleting your data

  • Deleted loans and people stay in Recently deleted for 30 days, so a slip can be undone, and are then removed.
  • Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, deletes everything on the phone. A copy may remain in Android's own backup until Android replaces it.
  • The Drive backup can be deleted when you disconnect it in the app, or at any time from Google Drive's settings (Manage apps, then delete DueAnt's hidden app data).

Children's privacy

DueAnt is not directed at children and doesn't knowingly collect data from children.
